Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has been denied bail by the Supreme Court. However, Sadhvi’s lawyer stated that she was entitled for a bail as the Anti-terror Squad of Maharashtra failed to file a charge-sheet against her in a period of 90 days from her arrest, which was mandatory. Sadhvi was arrested on October 23, 2008 for alleged involvement in Malegaon bomb blast.
Sadhvi Pragya has also reported instances of being subjected to “harassment, physical torture and verbal abuse” by the Anti-Terror Squad during her illegal detention.
