Hyderabad, India : Andhra Pradesh Goshala Federation has demanded that Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Satyanarayana immediately withdraw the idea of ‘Beef Festival’ to be held on April 14 and 15 at the NRHS hostel on the campus.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Federation president Mahesh Agarwal strongly condemned the proposed ‘Beef Festival’ to be held in the Osmania University on April 14 and 15. He demanded that the University police book cases against all those who involved in the gruesome activity under Sections 428, 429, 153 and 295 IPC without any delay to avoid any kind of untoward incidents. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation should enter the campus and stop the festival, confiscate the beef recovered.

Agarwal pointed out that Oxford dictionary defines beef as flesh of a cow, bull or ox used as food and this flesh can be obtained only after slaughtering cow, bull or ox and consumed, he added.

Telangana Madiga Dandora general secretary Daida Syam Sundar and Akhil Bharatiya Bhavsar Kshatriya Mahasabha vice president Mahdadev Patange were also present.
