Chennai, Mar 3 (TruthDive): Hindu organisations in two separate statements have come out against the attack on Mata Amritanandamayi calling it conspiracy by anti-Hindu forces and anti-national elements to destroy acharyas.
The Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, an organization that works towards the aim of a establishing a Hindu nation along with Sanatan Sansta, an organization working on spreading Hinduism and promoting vedic studies have taken strong offence to the smear campaign by the Communist parties on Hindu spiritual leaders like Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati (the head of Kanchi Mutt) and Mata Amritanandamayi.
Reacting to the controversy after the book written by Gail Tredwell, a former aide of Amritanandamayi at Kollam in Kerala, alleging that she was sexually abused and questioned the wealth of the God woman’s wealth, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti said Communists and unrighteous elements were defaming the saints with a bad purpose for the past few years.
The organization termed this as anti-Dharma conspiracy planned to defame saints of Hindu Dharma systematically and finish them off. It called on all Hindu organizations to unite to raise their voice against the conspiracy to destroy Dharma and moral values upheld by the saints and their ashrams. It said that these institutions were the reason for India turning into a consumer state like the West.
It pointed out that the Communists did not question the immorality in Church and their missionaries or the source of funds and did not doubt organizations like Popular front or Social Democratic front. The Sanatan Sansta, in its statement said that the Communist parties have always taken an anti-Hindu posture on all issues, and call themselves as atheists are opposed to Dharma. They are spreading false stories against Mataji because her charitable work has been an eye sore for them, said the Sanatan Sansta.
Gail Tredwell, an Australian citizen, reached India in 1980s and joined the Amritanandamayi Mutt in Kerala , where she was christened Swamini Aatmaprana by the Mata. She was also known as Gayathri. A main Swamiji of the Mata Ashram told HJS that around 300 people are staying at the Ashram now. Many of them were inmates at the time Gail Tredwell was staying. None of them have had any such bad experiences as mentioned by Gail Tredwell. He said Gail is a psychological patient and her writing these experiences after so many years, shows that it is a conspiracy to defame Mata.
