Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad is not just an organisation; but it is a stage for lawyers. In the past one year a number of public interest litigations (PIL) have been filed by this association against the injustice meted out to Hindu Dharma. Also, the court has slapped a punishment of Rs. 10 thousand on the Congress Government against the Governments policy of appeasing Muslims by using the Sacchar Committee. The Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad is also working against the misuse of funds of the Shri Vitthal Temple at Pandharpur. In the year 2012, there were riots at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. At that time, 14 policewomen were molested. Also, there were incidents of violence like vandalising of the Amar Jawan memorial, burning down a media van, etc. Inspite of all this, only 57 people were arrested, although it could be clearly seen that hundreds of fanatic rioters were responsible for this riot. We filed a petition against this and made sure that the police get the necessary compensation. Another important issue is that, Hindu Saints are always defamed by news channels. There is a censor board to check the content that is displayed in cinemas and dramas; however there is no such censor board to keep a check on these news channels. For this, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. We are working towards getting a suitable and appropriate land for the Kumbh-mela to be held at Nashik in the year 2015.
We are also working by means of other public interest litigations. We decided to extend our assistance to Hindus trapped in the Madgaon, Malegaon and Thane bomb-blast cases. We would like to ask the Government, ‘If you can talk to the Muslims who are arrested in the bomb-blast cases, then why don’t you talk to the Hindus who are arrested in such cases?’
